Wal is a 4-year-old bay gelding from New Zealand, trained by Peter G Didham, who operates out of Awapuni. He is the offspring of the stallion Staphanos and the mare Savadashian. Wal has not yet achieved a maiden victory, having raced 7 times without a win. In his latest race at Trentham on May 18, 2024, Wal, ridden by Toni Davies, finished in 5th place, trailing the winner, Coney Island.
