Tom Melbourne is one of the most discussed horses in Australia, trained by the country’s leading Group I-winning trainer, Chris Waller. Although he hasn’t secured a victory in over 730 days, he has still managed to contribute financially. Since his last win in March 2016, Tom Melbourne has finished in the top three at the Group I level three times, twice at Group II, four times in Group III races, and once at Listed level, bringing in over $700,000 for his owners.

So far in this preparation, he has raced just once, finishing second in the Group II Ajax Stakes behind his stablemate, Comin’ Through. Due to his popularity, Tom Melbourne even has a parody Twitter account, @tommelbourne2.
