Sunset Sam is a 6-year-old bay gelding from New Zealand, trained by J L Rathbone in Wanganui. He is the offspring of the stallion Verdi and the mare Twilight Offer. Sunset Sam has not yet achieved a maiden victory, with three races under his belt without a win. In his latest race at Waverley on September 10, 2023, he was ridden by Amber Riddell and came in 14th place, trailing behind the winner, Richter.
