Steinbeck is a 6-year-old gelding from South Africa, trained by Justin Snaith. He is the offspring of the stallion Silvano and the mare Demanding Lady. Throughout his career, Steinbeck has achieved victory in three races. His most notable win occurred on June 21, 2022, at Kenilworth, where he was ridden by Craig Zackey and triumphed in the $47,428 Racehorse Owners Association Middle Stakes, beating Secret Oasis.
