Spieth

At five years old, Spieth has had a relatively light racing career, with only 16 starts to his name. He has achieved five wins in those outings but has narrowly missed victory in two Group I races, finishing second in the 2016 Darley Classic and the 2017 Lightning Stakes, both held at Flemington.

The stallion, a son of Thorn Park, was purchased for $200,000 by Ellerslie Lodge at the 2014 NZ Premier Yearling Sale and began his training in Sydney under Bryce Heys. Spieth made his highly anticipated debut in September 2015 at Sandown, where he finished a strong second, just a length behind the esteemed Secret Agenda.
