Miner is a three-year-old brown gelding from New Zealand, trained by P & S McKay in Matamata. He is the offspring of the stallion Tivaci and the mare Gold Fever. So far, Miner has not achieved maiden status, as he has not won any races in three tries. In his latest race at Taupo on August 21, 2024, Miner was ridden by Niranjan S Parmar and finished in 10th place, trailing the winner, Live On Air.
