Maricruz, a 9-year-old mare, was bred in Ireland and is trained by J C McConnell in Meath. Her sire is Most Improved, and her dam is Miss Fancy Pants.

Maricruz has won four races in her career. Her most notable victory came on July 13, 2019, at Navan. Ridden by R Coakley, she won the $12,500 Emerald Facility Services Event Cleaning Apprentice Handicap, beating out Dance Emperor.
