Folktale is a 7-year-old bay mare from New Zealand, trained by Mike McCann at Riccarton Park. She is the offspring of the stallion Rip Van Winkle and the mare Muscat Hills. Folktale has not yet achieved a maiden victory, having raced 25 times without a win. In her latest race at Riccarton Park on October 22, 2022, Folktale, ridden by Rohan Mudhoo, placed 9th, finishing behind the winner, Goldie’s Chance.
