Especial is a 4-year-old dark bay or brown mare from the United States, trained by Karl Grusmark. She is sired by the stallion Exaggerator and is out of the mare Galley Beach. Especial has not yet achieved maiden status, having not secured a victory in her four races so far. In her latest race at Finger Lakes on June 15, 2023, she was ridden by Jacqueline Davis and finished unplaced, trailing behind the winner, Bad Connection.
