Bergheim is a 6-year-old chestnut gelding from New Zealand, trained by Chris Gibbs, who is based in Ruakaka. He is a descendant of the stallion Belardo and the mare Simfinnarley. Having competed once at the Group One level and achieving a best finish of 5th, he has earned $10,425 throughout his career, placing him among the elite racehorses. On March 13, 2021, at Ellerslie, Bergheim, ridden by Opie Bosson, achieved his most notable victory so far by winning the $200,000 6-year-old Open Set Weight race, beating On The Bubbles.
