Bassett is a 6-year-old gelding from the United States, trained by Carl Deville. He is the offspring of the stallion Court Vision and the mare Pinata. Bassett has not yet achieved maiden victory, having raced 10 times without a win. In his latest race at Mountaineer on September 25, 2023, Bassett, ridden by Mauro Cedillo, finished in 9th place, trailing the winner, Chopped.
