Alsonso is a four-year-old chestnut gelding originally from Australia. Trained by Hong Kong-based Mark Newnham, Alsonso is the offspring of sire Zoustar and dam Soriano.
Although Alsonso has only won one race, a significant victory came on October 30, 2023, at Benalla. Ridden by Danny Beasley, Alsonso won the $27,000 Maiden Plate, beating out Cantolago.
